We celebrate Independence Day, Children's Day, Teachers' Day, Rabindranath Tagore's Birthday, Swami Vivekananda's Jayanti, and other national occasions — not merely as events, but as opportunities to instil a deep sense of cultural identity and civic pride.

Physical education is integrated into the weekly timetable for all classes. Students are encouraged to participate in inter-class, inter-house, and inter-school competitions across a range of sports.
Our Annual Sports Day is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the school calendar — a day of healthy competition, sportsmanship, and celebration.

Student Council
"Leadership is not a title — it is a responsibility. Our Student Council teaches that lesson from the very first day."
The Vidya Niketan Student Council is a democratically elected body of student leaders who act as a bridge between the student community and the school administration. Council members are elected by their peers from Class V upwards, with Cabinet positions held by senior students who demonstrate exemplary conduct and initiative.
The Council actively contributes to school decision-making, organises events, leads community drives, and ensures the student voice is heard and respected.

Field Trips &
Educational Excursions
Learning without walls — our educational tour programme takes students beyond the classroom and into the world.
Vidya Niketan organises annual educational excursions that are carefully designed to reinforce curriculum learning through real-world experience. Past excursions have included visits to museums, historical sites, science centres, and nature reserves in and around West Bengal.
These trips build independence, teamwork, and a broader world-view — while ensuring safety and adult supervision at all times.
