Important Rules
Eligibility Conditions & Guidelines
Age Calculation Date
The minimum age for all classes is calculated as on 1st April of the admission year, strictly in accordance with CISCE regulations. A child must have attained the minimum age on or before this date.
Proof of Age Required
A valid Birth Certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation or Gram Panchayat is mandatory. Hospital discharge summaries or informal records are not accepted as primary proof of age.
Lateral Entry (Class II–XI)
Students applying for Class II and above must submit a Transfer Certificate (TC) and latest Progress Report / Marksheet from their previous school. Admission is subject to seat availability and interaction assessment.
CISCE Affiliation Compliance
All admissions at Vidya Niketan (CISCE School Code: WB219) strictly follow guidelines issued by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. The school has no authority to grant any age relaxation.
No Age Relaxation
Requests for age relaxation β€” regardless of reason β€” will not be entertained. This applies to all classes including Pre-Nursery. No exceptions will be made even on humanitarian or special grounds.
Cancellation for False Information
Any admission granted on the basis of false, forged, or misrepresented documents or information will be cancelled immediately β€” at any stage of the academic year β€” without refund of fees paid.
Lateral Entry
Mid-Session & Lateral Admissions

Vidya Niketan accepts lateral entry applications for students transferring from other schools into Class II through Class XI, subject to seat availability in the respective class and section.

Transfer Certificate (TC) β€” mandatory for all lateral admissions from Class II onwards, issued and countersigned by the appropriate authority.
Previous School Marksheet β€” latest Progress Report or Annual Marksheet to assess class placement suitability.
Character Certificate β€” required for students applying to Class VI and above as part of lateral entry.
Interaction / Assessment β€” an informal, age-appropriate interaction will be conducted to gauge the student's readiness for the class applied.
Seat Availability β€” lateral entry is strictly subject to available seats in the class and section. No waitlist is maintained.
Class IX & XI Lateral Entry β€” subject to special conditions set by CISCE. Please contact the school office for eligibility requirements.
