About the Programme
A Joyful Beginning to
Lifelong Learning

The Pre-Primary programme at Vidya Niketan is thoughtfully designed for children aged 2Β½ to 6Β½ years β€” the most crucial and formative years of a child's life. We believe that the early years lay the foundation for everything that follows: curiosity, confidence, creativity, and character.

Our programme goes far beyond the alphabet and numbers. We create a warm, language-rich environment where children learn through play, stories, songs, art, and structured activities that develop all areas of the brain simultaneously.

CISCE-affiliated and English medium, our Pre-Primary classes are staffed by trained early-childhood educators who understand the developmental needs of young learners. Every classroom is a world of colour, imagination, and wonder.

No. There is no formal written test for Pre-Primary admissions. We conduct a brief, age-appropriate, informal interaction with the child β€” simply to help us understand the child's comfort and readiness. It is not a test, and children should not be coached or prepared for it.
English is the primary medium of instruction at Vidya Niketan across all classes, including Pre-Primary. Teachers are warm and supportive during the initial settling-in period, using bilingual communication when needed to help younger children feel at ease.
Pre-Primary school hours are generally from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Exact timings may vary by class level. Please confirm current timings with the school office at the time of admission.
Homework at the Pre-Primary level is minimal, fun, and activity-based β€” never burdensome. The focus is on in-school learning, play, and hands-on exploration. Any home activities are designed to involve parents and reinforce what was learned joyfully in class.
Our UKG programme is specifically designed to build the academic, social, and emotional readiness a child needs for Class I. By the end of UKG, children are confident readers, writers, and independent learners β€” making the transition smooth and natural.
